ABSTRACT
Cultural tourism, a vital sector in the global tourism industry, not only supports economic growth but also plays a significant role in preserving cultural heritage. This study explores the integration of Augmented Reality (AR) in music museums within the context of cultural tourism. By leveraging AR technology, music museums can enhance visitor engagement, offering interactive and immersive experiences that bridge cultural heritage with modern digital innovations. Using bibliometric analysis based on Scopus data from 1995 to 2024, this research identifies key trends, institutions, and authors contributing to AR applications in music museums. The findings highlight a growing academic focus on AR, driven by its potential to digitize cultural artifacts, improve visitor education, and provide dynamic, real-time interactions. Key contributions by leading institutions and researchers from Italy, the United States, and other nations underscore the global and multidisciplinary nature of this field. This study concludes that AR technology serves as a transformative tool, reshaping the cultural tourism landscape by making music museums more accessible, engaging, and relevant for diverse audiences, while also aiding in cultural preservation for future generations.
